I decided my Slo Mo Bird video was not doing it for me. While I didn’t want to make the video longer I did want to add a little something to it. So, when the nuthatch approached the bird feeder and scared of the goldfinches I thought I could add a little suspenseful music in addition to the lame music I had selected from Apple’s Final Cut Pro music library. It turned out to me more difficult than I thought.
But Apple included Logic Pro in its new Creator Studio offering. which I now subscribe to. I thought, great I can use the loops, session musicians, and all the other fun stuff found in Logic. Ha, I should have know better. While in theory you can export a movie from Final Cut Pro to Logic with XML (god, that takes me back to ancient database work) it didn’t work as promised. After much fiddling I got a video working with Logic and started adding stuff to the sound track. But when I tried to move the video back to FCP, it all fell apart.
I also should have realized that without a musical background figuring out how Logic worked would be a nightmare. I finally go some sound out of Logic and incorporated it into FCP, but in the end I just used the jingles and sound effects found in Final Cut.
I have started to look at YouTube videos about Logic, but there is a long learning curve. Maybe someday. .
